Typing Pool
The Typing Pool of the Ministry provides general typing services, particularly when additional work is required arising from special events, mass mailing and preparation of reports. The Typing Pool is a source of substitute secretaries, when members of the regular secretarial staff are on leave.
Library
The Library of the Ministry, now part of the Information Centre, covers the portfolio subjects of the Ministry. It was born out of the introduction by Government in April 1998 of the sharing of Corporate Services among the Ministries of Commerce and Technology, Industry and Investment, Mining and Energy and Water. The collections of the Ministries, except for the Ministry of Water, were combined to add resources to the information centre.
Collection
The Library hosts a collection of materials, mainly:

- Pamphlets
- Research Reports
- Annual Reports
- Feasibility and other studies
- Bills and Acts
- Newspaper Clippings
Special Collection
The Special Collection includes material on:
- Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE)
- International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
- International Trade Centre (ITC)
- General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT)
- World Trade Organisation (WTO)
- Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO)
Clientele
The Information Centre’s facilities are primarily for the various categories of staff of the Ministry. However, in view of the unique nature of some of the information contained in the Library, members of the public are allowed to visit for research purposes. Thus, researchers, students and members of the public who have specific needs of the services provided, or are referred from other libraries, are given access to information contained in the Library.

Registry
Records management at the Ministry involves the establishment of controls over the creation, use, maintenance and disposition of recorded information. The Registry forms part of the Information and Documentation Division and manages the Ministry’s records by providing a number of information services.
Its services include:
- Classifying, coding, indexing and filing correspondence for easy retrieval.
- Conducting an inventory of the records periodically.
- Conducting file searches, on request.
- Daily dispatch of the Ministry's outgoing mail.
- Daily receiving, sorting, processing and dispatch of correspondence.
- Enclosing correspondence in files and updating minute sheets.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the records management programme periodically.
- Maintaining and securing files.
- Maintaining indexes of files.
- Making changes to systems, as necessary.
- Managing proper storage of files.
- Managing the records disposition programme.
- Providing a "bring-up"; service for files.
- Recording and monitoring file movements in and out of the custody of the Registry.
- Spearheading the development of an appropriate retention and disposition schedule.
As such, the Registry's core business is document management.
